Xiaobai and Bull's birthday

(21ST OCT 2006 and 3RD NOV 2006)
2 bros turning quarter of a century old within 2 weeks!! Peeeerfect excuse for the boys to get wild crazy and drunk. On the left we have Xiaobai aka Lee Simian’s rampage at Boat Quay Autosports Gallery and on the right I present to u Bull aka Ho Jiawei’s early knockout at Prinsep Street @karaoke Pub.

Deja-vu isnt it. Its always the case with birthday celebration, the boy must get drunk and wasted before everyone is happy. ‘Ta!! Lai Ta!!’

~ PimpHerRide ~ Chrome number plates

Gives a slight facelifted feel to the jazz, and the matt chrome has a nice contrast against the black background.

Most impt thing is that she's happy with it.

:: A happy first month with the special someone ::

(18th December 2006)

The hearts have melted umpteen times and still counting. Amazing how things have changed over the past 30 days, anticipation have evolved into appreciation, and still nothing was taken for granted.

It has been a magical dream come true, after 13 yrs and from 2 very different directions. So thank god for MSN and ebuddy.com, there is one more lucky guy and blissful gal in this world. ;)

Stanchart Run 2006

(3rd December 2006)

I must be crazy when i agreed to join the 21.1km with Mark. When i was spotting 55kg frame back in Sec school days, the furtherest i ran was only 15km. Nevertheless, there was this feeling that somehow i will discipline myself to train hard for the event (and lose weight in the process).

Bullshit.

We had a grand total of 5 runs of 10km each, 2 of those in the week before the run itself. And that's it, we are all set for the run of our lives. To make matters worse, i slept only 4 hrs the night before. But the best thing of it all is i have the perfect excuse to go on a carbo loading rampage 3 days before the run (pastas and pizzas!! :P)

630am: we arrived at One Fullerton, bit of stretching and there we go.

5km: Weather is good, and the dawn is breaking. Good cruising speed.

8km: Shit, i have to go toilet. Luckily so does mark. We agreed to go on the 10km mark.

10km: toilet break (in the bushes :P)

13km: marina south seems to be never ending....

16km: First pitstop. Sole is sore and painful. Finally i come to a complete stop and try to walk along. Until i saw 2 aunties overtaking me.

18km: 2nd pitstop. This time its the buttocks having cramps. Sat down stretch and taggle along. This is bad.

19km: Somehow i found my third and final wind. We wanted to dash across the finishing line looking all cool and suave and thats exactly what we did........

Then came the cramps on my buttocks and shoulders. I practically stopped moving for 10 mins in case i aggravated 'em. :P

In any case we're just glad its all over.
Special thanks to the following pple:
- Father and mother for waking up at 5am to ferry us there
- Mark for encouraging us to finish the race on our feet and just allowing me to catch up
- Sister for paying for my reg. fees :P
- And last but not least my dear baby jazzy for coming to pick us all up stinky and sticky from boat quay. ;)

After that it was a feast of tony romas for lunch and seafood @ newton for dinner. *cheers*

A tribute to 2026

Its not my ride, but i spent enough time and developed enough feelings with it to publish an entry. It was a mistake right from the onstart of purchase; Ms chua at PML did not inform us of the facelifted version (at 10k cheaper somemore) 3 mths after our car collection. But when it all ended, u look back at the 5 yrs and 4mths with the E46 and still, we say its a wonderful car.

The only downside about our E46 was because we were coming off the E36, which was spotting the same 108BHP 1.9L engine. So we were practically just changing the shell and running an inline-4s as was 10 yrs ago. Nevertheless, it is still a good enough car, capable of doing 209km/h, cruise control, and a wonderful suspension setup. How often do pple complain about a beemer anyway?

There were various potential upgrades for the 318i that we did not explore, tried so many times to get 'em to change the rims to 18'' hamanns or BBS RKs. Till the day of exporting, it was still running on ugly stock 15''s.

Suspension feedback is extremely healthy. Putting into layman terms, its soft on straights and stiff on corners. Useful when u have babies or elderlys on board, they will never complain.

Closure of a chapter, start of another. We welcome the first ever roadster into our lineup. ;) Gotta miss ya, 2026.

Malacca Roadtrip

(24TH OF SEPTEMBER 2006)
What better way to kick start my blog; our first ever road trip up to Malacca. We were supposed to meet at 9am on Sunday morning, but this happened on sat night:

And so we met at 1030am instead, all shack and hangover-ed.

Ultimately there are still a couple of pilots in our squad, despite having planned it for a week in advance. One had a cute thingy at home, so couldn’t come, another malingering say got sore throat cannot make it, the last one we din bother to ask cos we all know he will cook up with some lame excuse again. :p

In any case, check out our lineup for the day:

2005 Suzuki GSX-R1300

2004 Yamaha YZR-1000

2001 Suzuki GSX-R1000K2

2005 Subaru Impreza WRX

Total journey up was +/- 200km, and we set off from SG customs at around 1130. Surprisely no one tried anything funny on the day, maybe it’s the weather. We cruised along the highway enjoying the scenic view under the scorching 33 deg hot sun at 160-180km/h. At around 1229 hrs we stopped for our first pit stop.

A light brunch and we are on our way again within 15 mins. All was smooth and peaceful until this happened 20 mins from malacca:

Fred’s ride rear brakes came off lose, and was dangling and scratching the chrome rims of jawa’s. We parked by the side of the highway and tried to savage the situation with whatever limited tools we have. In the end it was a shoelace and a piece of cloth tying the loose caliper to the swing arm.

And finally, we reached our destination. Time: 1345pm

First, Fred insisted we have to try the famous Malacca chendol

In the end, it turns out to be a fako~~ So, never judge a book by its cover, stall pretty pretty doesnt mean good food. (See picture below, and trust me, it tastes as bad as it looks)

NOW, check out the REAL thing:

And so, we ended up eating 2 bowls of chendol each, 1 fake one and 1 the real mccoy.

Btw, the real chendol shop looks good too :P

In between, we had lotsa fun.

At 1830 hrs, we are on our way back to Singapore. The weather at night is much cooler and thus easier on our rides. Same speed, we maintained 160km/h for much of the 200km stretch. Along the way we stopped at machap for a drink and burger. It was then that Mimi realized his trusty Spidi jacket was torn by the right sleeve. No wonder it felt so cold. :P

Credits to all those who managed to turn up for the event.

Mimi, for supplying the endless flow of jokes and laughter the entire day.

Fred, for leading the way and paying for almost all the food.

MY, for volunteering to be the backmarker for me whenever there was a jam.
