Of phones and fashion

We guys have a soft spot for gadgets, and when u put it together with fashion, its going to be hard to ignore. Lucky thing is, they dont normally give the best of 2 worlds. You either get a good-looker or a powerful player.

So here i am, trying to find the best excuse to change my mobile phone.

LG

No doubt my fashion statement of the season, esp the Shine series (oh yes, the Prada LG or LG prada, as u like). Personally like all things black (besides cars which is a nightmare to maintain) so this one fits in nicely into my inventory. (cept the touch-screening)

Not feature packed phones from the koreans, but that's what its all about. They are all based on looks looks and looks. The kind which pple will dish out of their pockets onto the coffee/wine/pub/office table at the slightest chance. Why not, since it will most definitely induce interest in pple 'can i take a look at that for a while?'

NOKIA

Still the best selling phone in the world, and a good reason at that. A recent report states that the Finnish company sold more than 346 million nokia handset in 2006, almost an average of 1 million set a day.

The King got the N95 once its launched, and all the hyde about the navigator built-within tried to cover the problems that comes with it. Has a powerful 5.0mp camera, but i tried taking a picture last week in KL and it resets automatically. Worse, its harder to reach His Majesty these days cos he has difficulties answering the phone without the N95 hanging itself.

'You gotta have the software upgraded' says all the gurus around me. We shall see.

Oh yes, about the E90. First mini computer phone to feature a powerful 5.0mp camera. Wouldnt be cheap though. Can use it as a self-defence tool when entering Msia too.

HTC

I'm not the biggest fan of touch phones (as quoted by Hardware mag, true man uses a keypad :P) after a horrid experience with my O2 atom. But the recent aggressive advertisement runs by the Taiwan phonemaker's Touch series makes it hard not to sit up and notice.

SONY ERICSSON

Ahh, one of my personal favs at the moment after the recent swirls of complaints about the symbian system by nokia around me on the N-series.

The P1 is currently top of my list with 3.2mp, qwerty keyboard and bulky-not structure. Not the best looker around, but what can you expect from a biz phone right. I've been checking out the M600 and M850 a while back, and this phone more or less filled up the shortcomings of the two.

The K850i is a sequel to my current K800i, cept the folks at Sony upgraded the Cyber-shot to 5.0mp this time round. So its like upgrading my compact digital cam rather than my phone. Looks wise nothing to shout about too.

APPLE

Another fashion statement to flash on the table top. Apple is trying to recapitulate its iPod success by entering the mobile phone sector. As said, i hate touch screens, so this doesnt goes down well with me. Steve Jobs claims a revolution to handphones - a triple player, call phone, iPod media player and a wireless Web device, but i seriously wonder if the battery life will be able to shoulder all that burden.

All things said, its going to be a bang when officially launched this week 29th June, 6pm, all around the world, based on local time zone. The iPhone is destinated to be an icon, much like its mp3 siblings, top of most wishlists around the world. Thus, its cool to have one. In addition, it will most probably have the highest value on the second hand market in yrs to come.... esp when Apple decides to cut its production in future.

Management's Bdae 07

We decided to celebrate his bdae 1 week earlier since he's going for the Mainly I Love Kids (!! A sign of fatherhood yearning) run the following morning of the actual day.

No special combo tonight, just wild wild straight to the point toasting drinking and singing. No one really got too drunk on the night, despite a record 3 bottles (+ 1 more the night before @ DF) for Mr Management. (who lives up to his name, even arranging for his own birthday cake, well done)

Seriously, it was more of Mr White on a vengence quest to redress his grievances from the humiliation he had from last yr's xmas, masterminded by Mr M.

For the record, here's Mr White below during xmas 06.

Xmas 06 - Humiliation

Notice the guy in blue? Yes, that's Mr M tattooing Mr White, when the latter was dead drunk.

Thus, tonight, White brought along this set of tools.

Perm Markers

And so, let the battle begins:

Sadly, at the end of the night, Mr M survived the battle with lotsa hustle and spirit, and came up tops over White.

So in the end, both got their fair share of body art.

And everyone's happy :)

Happy birthday brother.

M&T Wedding: KL Leg

The event continues with an extended celebration in KL, simple banquet at 阳城

Sis arranged for us to reside at Crowne Plaza, very nice rooms with a sliding door connecting the bathroom to the bedroom. Can watch tv and soak in bubble bath at the same time, cool~~

Seriously i think the architect has a fetish with toilets or a phobia with crampy lavatories. The bathroom is BIGGER than the sleeping area.

No complaints though, cept for the extremely soft pillow which gave poor gf a sore neck for the next 3 days.

M&T Wedding - 第一天, 宣誓

What promised to be a perfect wedding truly lives up to its expectation, well planned, perfectly executed, all thanks to a team of thoughtful and sweet sisters and the sporting and dare-devils band of brothers, a total of 28 between them ladies and gentlemen.

接新娘

The games started at 0845, 'Tease the groom' session. And of course, urs truly me got the honour to kick start the grand event (being the younger brother, and receipent of the 1st angbao of the day ^_^) with the traditional 'must-have' opening of the groom's car door. After which, the 13 sisters on standby took over the game.

All obstacles cleared :)

敬茶

'Tea ceremony', and the much much awaited 'Father and Mother' greeting from mark :P

'Walking Down the Aisle'

Beautiful setup at Hyatt's sky garden with bubbles filling the entire scenery.
Cupcakes from Auntie Linda

The bridesmaids
And the first tears of joy from sis, after their solemnization.

'You may now kiss the bride'

Beautiful cake, 30kg, personally made by Auntie Linda

As day 1 drew to a close with a nice buffet spread at the garden, credits should be given to everyone involved, esp the coordinators on both ends and behind-the-scenes elderlys. Everyone is tired after a highly emotion-charged day, lots of running around in the sun. Good thing the wedding banquet is scheduled to the following day.
